Individual Therapy
Most of the people who come to me are functioning — often at a high level — and the difficulty is not that their life has fallen apart. It is that holding it together has started to cost more than it should.
That might look like a persistent low-grade dread you have stopped expecting to lift. A pattern in relationships that keeps producing the same outcome. Anger that arrives faster than it used to. A sense of being at some distance from your own life.
How I Work
I am not a clinician who nods for fifty minutes. I will ask direct questions, I will tell you what I actually think, and when I see something you have not named yet, I will say so.
My training is integrative — acceptance-commitment, cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic — but in practice what that means is that I fit the approach to the person rather than the reverse.
Sessions are 55 minutes. Most people begin weekly. Some move to every other week once things have stabilized. That is a clinical decision we make together, not one an insurance company makes for us.
Practical Details
I see clients in person in Alexandria, VA and by secure video across the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, where I am licensed. Sessions are $275; see Fees for details on out-of-network reimbursement.
Getting Started
The first step is a brief phone consultation, at no charge, to talk about what brings you here and whether I am the right fit. If I am not, I will tell you and will try to point you somewhere better.
This practice does not provide emergency or crisis services. If you are in immediate danger or in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911.
