I am a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist with more than a decade of practice at the intersection of psychology, the law, and the institutions people end up inside. 

Alongside this practice I direct behavioural health services within a correctional facility, serving a population most clinicians never encounter. I hold certification in correctional mental health from the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, and a master's degree in forensic psychology in addition to my doctorate. 

That background shapes how I work. I have sat with people on the worst day of their lives, in a setting with none of the comfort of a private office, and it has made me difficult to shock and slow to judge. It has also given me a clear sense of the difference between distress that is a reasonable response to circumstance and distress that signals something clinical. 

I am licensed in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, and I see clients both in person and online.
